Audi wanted the new mobile car configurator to provide the entire set of functionalities as well as the full content spectrum offered by their existing web configurator. In other words, there would be no streamlining or loss of detail. They envisioned this first-of-its-kind mobile tool to be the new industry standard that would serve a wide group of users.
Countless combinations. Limited screen size. Despite the complex content involved, the mobile car configurator delivered optimal usability by capitalizing on the speed and personalization that mobile devices offer. We employed all mobile device multi-touch gestures as well as intuitive scrolling to create an enhanced user interface.
We also incorporated every single equipment option found on the web version – from rims to color to seating – and we made the selection process faster than ever. Finally, the iOS flex-app supported iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, while the generated “Audi Code” allowed customers to complete their configuration – and car order – at any Audi dealership.
