    In large metropolises like London, Audi dealerships don’t have much space to display their inventory. How could they overcome that quandary with new retail tools?

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL

Audi was looking for innovative, multi-channel retail concepts that would complement the traditional way of selling cars at their urban dealerships. The overarching goal was to promote personal contact not only with the dealership but also with Audi as a brand. To achieve this new vision, they challenged a multi-vendor team, that included SapientNitro, to help bring their products and brand closer to their customers.

  • THE ANSWER

    We conceptualized and built an iPad app for Audi City sales staff to help them keep tabs on prospective owners as well as customize in-store “power walls” and other functionalities.

THE EVOLUTION OF A SOLUTION

We started with an analysis of the Audi City infrastructure and processes and then, together with Audi, defined the project requirements. From there, we began an intense user experience and technical concept phase. Based on what we learned, we developed and implemented the iPad app’s four main functionalities:

  1. A lead management module that captured sales leads on the spot
  2. A multifaceted alert system that coordinated with showroom help buttons
  3. A media library of product images and videos for every Audi model
  4. A room configuration module that controlled the entire showroom
  • OUTCOME

    Audi City sales teams were able to personalize the customer experience, right down to the mood of the showroom walls, while projecting customers’ dream cars in 1:1 scale.

CLOSING THE DEAL

Thanks to the iPad app’s robust functionalities, Audi City employees in London, Beijing and Berlin were now able to:

  • Enter leads during sales conversations with prospective customers and store all leads centrally via a backend CRM system
  • Respond promptly to various showroom activities as well as the need for customer support in different showroom locations
  • Display product images and videos from the media library on the showroom’s “power walls” in 1:1 scale, providing a remarkable level of immediacy
  • Select different moods for the showroom walls, adjust the sound volume and open or close sliding doors for deal-closing privacy
  • RECOGNITION

    Along with the other project vendors, we celebrated like true urbanites when Audi City earned a top industry award.
