Nigel leads SapientNitro’s business across EMEA and, as global Chief Strategy Officer, is responsible for developing and executing SapientNitro’s global business strategy and identifying market opportunities to support company growth.
A driving force behind the agency’s vision to partner with clients to help them realize a better future for their businesses and improve their customers’ lives, Nigel works closely with clients and teams to deliver transformative experiences and business models that make a significant impact on the success of leading global brands including British Airways, Marks & Spencer, Royal Bank of Scotland/NatWest, Hugo Boss and Unilever.
Nigel has held a variety of leadership positions with Sapient and is a member of its global leadership team. He drove the evolution of Sapient’s European business, which he helped build into one of the largest agencies in the UK from a startup a decade ago, including its expansion beyond the UK to be a significant presence on the continent. He then spearheaded the Sapient Interactive business in Europe, culminating in its evolution to SapientNitro, as well as leading the acquisition of Digital and Direct to build the capabilities of SapientNitro in Europe.
Nigel’s roots are in business strategy, where he has consistently helped clients to build businesses and create sustainable value propositions for their brands by operating at the intersection of strategic thinking, creativity and technology. Prior to Sapient, he was a successful entrepreneur – co-founding a public company with interests in telecoms, consulting and connectivity solutions. He has also been a key advisor for a number of companies including AT&T/Cingular, McKinsey and Company, Orange, Siemens, Telkom SA, Verizon Wireless and Vodafone.
Nigel is an elected member on the IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) Council and serves as Director on the Management Board of The Marketing Society. He is an inductee of the BIMA (British Interactive Marketing Association) Digital Hall of Fame.
